I read the book in one day and started it again. I highlighted a number of things so that I can easily find them. I love the story, it resonated deeply with me. It's a book one can read many times and each time will feel fresh, because the words will have a new meaning, a new perspective. I'll never look at flocks of birds in the same way! Early Christmas morning, my son and I took our traditional Christmas two or three hour ride through Pueblo State Park. There were no birds to be seen. We were parked by the water and suddenly hundreds of seagulls flew overhead! We've been doing this for ten years and that had never happened before. In fact, we'd seen very few seagulls. For anyone who is already wake, Stephen Shaw's book I AM, is a work which opens up new thoughts as well as thought's you already know but have not yet had the "Aha moment". As you read this book, these "Aha moments" will resonate with you own personal deepest feelings that says, "I've always known that"! Or if you are awakening, I-AM, is the book to help you put your inner knowing on the right path to get to your own "Aha moment" and begin the ascension of your all knowing. If the book doesn't resonate with your inner knowing, it eventually will, as you begin your search for your own personal path to what is already within-you just haven't tapped it yet and Stephen's book, I-AM will help you tap it.
and "It's about BEing not Doing," are two of my favorite quotes from this book. This book has really moved me and when I finished it I had to take a walk in the woods and just sob. I am so grateful to you Steve and for Jay and Evan for helping you write this book. It's by far one of the most influential and impacting spiritual books I have read. I put it up there with The Shack, James Redfield's books, The Afterlife of Billy Fingers and all of Dr. Wayne Dyer's writings. I will never see birds flying in the sky the same again and when I see waves roll in from the ocean, I will always think of all our souls making the one vast ocean. I am really starting to believe, as Dr. Wayne Dyer always says, when the student is ready the teacher appears. Awaking to LOVE is truly coming home.
As mentioned above this is a great book for people who are just starting out on their spiritual paths, especially if they have no idea where to begin. Being a Capricorn; I tend to take the road where others have seen success. "I Am" was much more than just a story written by a talented author to me. It provided advice and value to practices that I was curious about, and it did it by providing another person's experience. I identified with this book so much that when I referenced it to other people I involuntarily replaced the main character's name with "Me or I"! In closing I have already purchased the next book "Heart Song" and have finally taken my first attempts at meditation.
This post is being done by Linda Gosnell.....Stephen's books & his message came to me by synchronicity.....It was just meant to happen..I have had these same beliefs for a long time..I have always been drawn to the mystical side of the universe & know that there are other beings here from other worlds that have great knowledge..Stephen brings all of this to surface with his book "I Am". I just could not put it down...so enthralling,spiritual, & amazing...It is all so very true. Society gives us so many messages that it makes it hard to be U & be happy..but U can...If we are happy & love ourselves, that is the only way we can truly LOVE all.
I did not learn very much but had to read a lot of rubbish padding to extract a few interesting lessons. I am not sure who wrote all the good reviews. Will my review end up on the LAST page of reviews? seem to put the negative reviews as far down the list as possible. I am sorry I bought this book.
I read the first chapter on and was mesmerized! I had to have this book and so I ordered it immediately. Stephen couldn't have written a more powerful book about his very real and unusual spiritually enlightening experiences. It was such a relief to actually know what I am and to feel free and powerful at the same time. I finally feel like there is someone out there that can actually understand and relate to some of my own strange but wonderful lessons of enlightenment. I absolutely loved it and am reading it again right now. I can't wait to take a trip with him to Peru and experience walking in the light with him and the wonderful Shamans and people there.
I would recommend this book to everyone that is ready to understand pure being and The Light. His next book will certainly be another masterpiece that will touch the deepest part of your soul like this one. I will be one of the first people to buy it!

These words, The Journey Begins, not only comprise the first sentence in this book, "I Am", but it is also very descriptive of what one is about to embark on...a journey. It is a journey of discovery; discovery of your true self, discovery of love and a discovery of opening yourself up to All That Is and all that can be. I instantly fell in love with Jay, Stephen Shaw's description of Jay made it easy to see Jay in your mind. There are lessons in this book for each and every one of us. I certainly discovered my lessons. Stephen Shaw has a way of not only telling a story, but also teaching the reader to "see". You'll know what I'm talking about when you start your own journey by reading this first book in the series. Luckily when I discovered "I Am", it led me to the next book in the series, "Heart Song" and then on to "Star Child." Now, I am reading Mr. Shaw's newest book, "They Walk Among Us." I love learning and discovering through a story and Stephen Shaw's writing style makes this so easy to do. I'm already looking forward to his next book too!
